Studio One, Pegasus Art

A one-day workshop exploring and understanding the structure of a Vermeer painting.

As a starting point you will be working with a range of large-scale colour photographs referencing Vermeer paintings. We will be recording all our findings with drawings that explore and examine our three main aims culminating in a final painting.

Our aims will be

1. To map the composition and structure

2. Identify a single light source, highlights and shadows

3. Recognise the combination of elements that allow the artist to tell a story
